The backheeled finish against Getafe, the powerful header against Copenhagen to finish off a Di María rabona assist and the missile against Betis are just some of the gems the best player in the world has scored.
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a lot of goals, 38, so far this season. The quality of all of them makes it hard to choose, but you can see the best ten goals here. The free kicks against Elche and Real Sociedad, the backheel against Getafe, the header against Copenhagen on the back of a Di María rabona assist, the bullet strike against Betis and the spectacular individual goals in the Champions League against Schalke and Galatasaray are just some of the gems Real Madrid fans can enjoy

94 jours, souvenirs d'USA 94

Real Madrid·History·Football history·2011-2020

The side are currently going through a purple patch, with the focus on attacking basketball. The arrival of Pablo Laso and the best domestic players have improved the level of this Real Madrid side. The principal objective however, carries on being the same as the day the club was founded: to win in Spain and in Europe
Since 2009, when Florentino Pérez’s second spell at the club started, full backing has been given to basketball. Ettore Messina, the continent’s most highly respected coach arrived, in addition to Rudy Fernández and Sergio Rodríguez from the NBA, and players with big futures like Jaycee Carroll. Serge Ibaka played for Madrid for a few months during the North American league’s lockout.

With his playing philosophy implemented, the side got to the final of the Euroleague in 2013, and the same year they won the ACB in a fantastic manner by downing Barcelona.

History of FC Barcelona

On November 29, 1899, Hans Gamper founded Futbol Club Barcelona, along with eleven other enthusiasts of 'foot-ball', a game that was still largely unknown in this part of the world

He could never have imagined the magnitude of what that initiative would eventually develop into. Over more than one hundred years of history, FC Barcelona has grown spectacularly in every area and has progressed into something much greater than a mere sports club, turning Barça’s ‘more than a club’ slogan into a reality.
Barça has become, for millions of people all around the world, a symbol of their identity, and not just in a sporting sense, but also in terms of society, politics and culture. Throughout the most difficult of times, Barça was the standard that represented Catalonia and the Catalan people's desire for freedom, a symbolism that has continued to be closely linked to the idiosyncrasy of the Club and its members to this day. Within the context of Spain, Barça is seen as an open and democratic club. And all around the world, Barça is identified with caring causes, and most especially children through its sponsorship agreement with Unicef.
For a whole century, FC Barcelona has passed through moments of glory and pain, periods of brilliance and other less successful ones, epic victories and humbling defeats. But all these different moments have helped define the personality of a Club that, due to its peculiar nature, is considered unique in the world.
With over one hundred years of history, there have naturally been many different periods, both in a social and a sporting sense. In the early years (1899-1922) , from the foundation of the club to the construction of Les Corts stadium, Barça was a club that had to distinguish itself from all the other football teams in Barcelona, to the point that it would come to be identified with the city as a whole. Barça soon became the leading club in Catalonia, and also associated itself with the increasingly growing sense of Catalan national identity.
From Les Corts to the Camp Nou (1922-1957), the club went through contrasting periods. Its membership reached 10,000 for the first time, while football developed into a mass phenomenon and turned professional, and these were the years of such legendary figures as Alcántara and Samitier. But due to material difficulties and the political troubles of the Spanish Civil War and post-war period, the club was forced to overcome several adverse circumstances, including the assassination of president Josep Sunyol in 1936, the very person who had propagated the slogan ‘sport and citizenship'. But the club survived, and a period of social and sporting recovery materialised in the form of the Camp Nou, coinciding with the arrival of the hugely influential Ladislau Kubala.
From the construction of the Camp Nou to the 75th anniversary (1957-1974) , Barça suffered mediocre results but was consolidated as an entity, with a constantly increasing membership and the slow but steady recovery, in the face of adversity, of its identity. A very clear sensation that was manifested for the first time ever in the words ‘Barça, more than a club’ proclaimed by president Narcís de Carreras. The board presided by Agustí Montal brought a player to Barcelona who would change the history of the club, Johan Cruyff.
From the 7th anniversary to the European Cup (1974-1992) the club saw the conversion of football clubs to democracy, the start of Josep Lluís Núñez’s long presidency, the extension of the Camp Nou on occasion of the 1982 World Cup and the Cup Winners Cup triumph in Basle (1979), a major success not just in a sporting sense but also in a social one, with an enormous and exemplary expedition of Barça supporters demonstrating to Europe the unity of the Barcelona and Catalan flags. Cruyff returned, this time as coach, and created what would come to be known as the 'Dream Team' (1990-1994), whose crowning glory was the conquest of the European Cup at Wembley (1992), thanks to Koeman’s famous goal. International Dominance. From Wembley to Abu Dhabi (1992-2009) was when the club’s most recent developments occurred in between its three greatest achievements, becoming champions of Europe. Josep Lluís Núñez’s long presidency came to an end, and the club displayed its finest potential during the celebrations of the club Centenary. Following on from Joan Gaspart (2000-2003), the June 2003 election brought Joan Laporta into office, and the start of new social expansion, reaching 172,938 members, and more successes on the pitch, including four league titles, the Champions League titles won in Paris and Rome and the FIFA Club World Cup.
In the season 2008-09 the arrival of Josep Guardiola as first team coach brought new energy to the club and they recorded the most successful season in their entire history winning the six titles that will be forever burned into the memories of all Barça fans. Success on the field has helped the club expand its social role and heighten its media profile. In the 2009/10 season, Guardiola’s second in charge, the Liga title was won for the second year in a row, and the twentieth on club history, setting a new record of 99 points in the process. The title was not decided until the very last day, with a game against Valladolid, and the celebrations went ahead that very same evening in the company of the fans at the Camp Nou.The grandeur of Futbol Club Barcelona is explained, among many other factors, by its impressive honours list. Very few clubs anywhere in the world have won so many titles. The Intercontinental Cup is the only major football trophy that has never made its way into the club museum, where the club's greatest pride and joy remain the three European Cup titles won in Wembley (1992) Paris (2006), Rome (2009) and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2009.
Apart from winning Europe’s top title,, the Club also has the honour of being the only one to have appeared in every single edition of European club competition since the tournaments were first created back in 1955. Barcelona's many achievements in Europe include being considered 'King of the Cup Winners Cup', having won that title a record four timesIn addition, FC Barcelona also won three Fairs Cups (the tournament now known as the UEFA Cup) in 1958, 1960 and 1966. In 1971, Barça won that trophy outright in a match played between themselves, as the first ever winners of the competition, and Leeds United, as the last.

Azulgrana RoundUp, March 2-9 - Homage to Carles Puyol

After the captain's decision to leave FC Barcelona was announced this week, team-mates, managers, the media and fans rallied to show their support to the outgoing center back

Saying that the 2014/15 season will be different is an understatement. This week Carles Puyol made a surprise announcement that he’d be hanging up the Blaugrana strip at the end of the season. The reaction to the captain’s decision was as widespread as it was sincere.

“They can look all they want, but they’ll never find the new Puyol”

After Puyol’s midweek press conference, Gerard Piqué penned an open letter to his captain. The message is as follows:

You were my guardian angel.

The day has arrived. You are leaving. It’s the law of life, but it is tough for me to imagine Barça without you. If I look back and remember Paris or Rome, the first image that comes to my mind is you lifting the European Cup. You gave the honour of lifting the trophy in Wembley to Abi, which just makes you even greater. My generation and those that come after do not know what the club will be like without Puyi in defence branding the captain’s armband and the number 5 on the back of his shirt. I think that nothing will ever be the same.

I met you 6 years ago. You were the captain and the emblem of the team and I was just a kid arriving, set on conquering the world. From day one we had a great relationship, both on and off the field. By your side I felt protected and I knew that if one day I made a mistake you’d always be there to save me. You were my guardian angel.

I know that I will miss our talks in the locker room, your advice and especially you giving us hell on the pitch. You are unique; a one-off. I find it amusing when they talk about signing “the new Puyol”. They can look all they want, but they’ll never find it.

Thanks for everything, Puyi.

Puyol’s departure makes waves on the internet

In addition to the outpouring of support from current team-mates and Club directors, Puyol has also received plaudits from the media, fans and former managers and players. The following is a selection of some of the more noteworthy pieces written about the center back:

Neymar visits the Club Museum

The best way to know the history of the Club, its singularity and importance is to visit the  Museu del FC Barcelona. Neymar Jr has done just that and now he not only knows what it’s like to score at the Camp Nou, but also what it means to be a player at  a Club with 115 years of history ."It was a lovely moment to experience”, explained the Brazilian , after his visit to the Museum accompanied by its director Jordi Penas, a few friends and his son,
Davi Lucca.
The Brazilian visited the Barça Museum Camp Nou Experience for more than an hour and got to see many of the most important exhibits on show, including the trophies won by the Club, Messi’s  four Ballons D’Or  and three Golden Boots, Stoichkov’s Ballon D’Or , Maradona’s Barça shirt, the boots Koeman wore when he scored the winner to give Barça their first European Cup at Wembley in 1992 and those worn by Belletti when he scored the winner in Paris in 2006.
Neymar also saw videos of goals scored by his compatriots Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Romário and explained: "here at the Museum I was able to see players I have never seen play live ".
Here at the Museum I was able to see players I have never seen play live
Neymar also visited the second floor of the Museum, where he enjoyed the Multimedia Area  which boasts 11 giant screens combined to make a single 40x3 metre wall showing some of Barça’s most important goals and the interactive tables which show 200 unforgettable moments from the Club’s history
Neymar’s signing was announced nine months ago and you can see his first goal for the Club – a header at the Vicente Calderón in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup - at the Museum, a place all Barça fans should visit and which is, of course, free to Club members.

Space at the Museum dedicated to the best: Leo Messi

The Club Museum has opened a section for visitors dedicated exclusively to Leo Messi. The Espai Leo Messi occupies70 m² of the first floor of the Camp Nou Experience, where visitors can see the Argentinean’s four Ballons D’Or and two Golden Boots. This is the first time the Club have dedicated an exclusive space to a player who is still active.
All Messi’s goals on two interactive tables
As well as his personal awards, the space also includes two interactive tables with all Messi’s goals for the Club and visitors can also vote for what they consider to have been his best goal in Barça colours.
Museum Director Jordi Penas explained that the space was created in answer to a real demand from the Barça fans who have been through the Camp Nou Experience:“the visitors really wanted something like this - they want to feel closer to Barça’s hero”. The space also increases the offer at the Museum, as Penas explained:“it makes it clear that Barça is about emotions and sensations and that as well as showing our history, the Club is also a world of excitement and fantasy”. And who better to show that excitement and fantasy than Leo Messi !
22 League and 4 Champions League Trophies on show
The Camp Nou Experience is open between 9.30 and 19.00 from Monday to Saturday and from 9.30 to 14.30 on Sundays and holidays. As well as the Espai Messi, the Club’s 22 league trophies and 4 Champions Leagues are also on display. The Changing Rooms, Press Room and Players Tunnel can also be visited.

Javier Mascherano makes his 100th appearance for FC Barcelona in La Liga

Javier Mascherano has played 100 La Liga games in the FC Barcelona strip, his most recent match was this Saturday against Valladolid at Nuevo José Zorrilla.

The Argentinian arrived to FC Barcelona from Liverpool in 2010. His first league match for the Blaugrana was at home against Hércules – the match ended in a 0-2 defeat. He started playing as a defensive midfielder, but as time passed Guardiola repositioned him as a center back. Mascherano made 27 appearances in the league in his first season for Barça, in 2011/12 he made 31 appearances, and 25 in the following season. This year he’s featured 17 times for Barça in the league.

In total Mascherano has played 169 matches for Barça, 100 of which were league games, 25 Cup matches, 35 Champions League matches, 6 in the Spanish Super Cup, 1 in the European Super Cup and 2 in the Club World Cup. Only three Argentinians have made more appearances for Barça than Mascherano, they are Messi, Saviola and Zuviría.
